You must read the rules before you can make a character. The code for the biographies is in here somewhere. Without it, you can't make a character.General Site Rules
- Please, refrain from saying anything prejudiced or inappropriate or anything that makes any member feel uncomfortable or unwelcome here- everyone has a right to role-play here and no member, staff member, or otherwise should make someone feel like they don't belong.
- Stealing the work of others and claiming it as your own is also unacceptable, lazy, and greedy. If you are found out to be doing this it will result in a temporary ban for members and power-stripping for staff.
- Please, no out-of-character swearing. I'm not very big on this rule but I do understand that it can make some people feel uncomfortable. So just don't do it.
>> In the chat box or in OCC/IC, please don't use cr8z ch@tsp45k. It's difficult to understand and just annoys everyone. 'BRB', 'G2G', 'LOL', and other abbreviations along those lines are perfectly acceptable in out of character posts and chat boxes, but otherwise, remember that this is an intermediate-advanced role-play, and things like that just will not go.- Spamming and double-posting annoys everyone, especially me. Spamming can range from taking a thread about orca whales and then posting, 'I'm quitting this website', or posting inappropriate images or stupid ones in your own thread. Spammers are banned by IP address, e-mail, and username. If you don't know what DPing is, seek help.
>> spamming in the c-box is defined as advertising and as above. Don't say too many things in a row either. No one likes to see 'Destiny' 'Destiny' 'Destiny' 'Destiny' over and over again throughout the entire c-box history.- What the staff says goes. They are the law. If you feel that any staff member is abusing his or her powers, PM me and I'll sort it out. Flaming, cursing at, or insulting any staff member will result in a temporary ban.
- If I ban you, remember, you're not three years old. If you are, then congratulations on learning how to use a computer at such an early age. But since you're probably not, please do not act like you are. If you were continuously rude to another member and I confront you, don't be difficult. Understand that I'm not going to discipline you if I don't know what's going on. If I do, then feel free to explain- nicely- what happened.
Role-Playing Rules- There is a 150+ words per post rule. Please make sure that all of your sentences make sense. For instance, 'Sandy quickened her pace. "Wait!" she called out, desperate to reach the bus before it got too far. She passed a goldfish on her way.' Can you spot the out-of-place sentence?
- Auto-hitting, god-modeling, and power-playing are not acceptable. Auto-hitting is automatically hitting your opponent in battle. God modeling is becoming invincible, or being unable to be hurt. Your character has to get hurt sometime! Power-playing is using another members character without their permission. All three will result in a warning, a second warning, then a week long ban without warning.
- No graphic sex. Really, what more is there to say?
- Murdering another member's character without permission results in an immediate ban without warning. Otherwise the site goes into ruins because that member has bashed/flamed the murderer publicly.
- Make sure your character is adjustable to their ranking. For instance, a first year is far less likely to have full control over their shift than a twelfth year student.
- Liquid-time is allowed here, but make sure to keep it under three threads at once. Liquid-time is where your character is in two different threads at one time.
Character Rules
- Purple people do not exist. If they are, then I think I ought to go have my eyes checked, coz they don't look that way to me.
- You're allowed however many characters your little heart desires, but make sure that you can keep them all active and straight in your head. Inactive characters will be deleted, so, if you're like me, and anything you create is your own personal friend, keep it active.
- Be original. Unless you completely insist, there will be no Sally Smiths or Jane Does.
Advertising Rules
- You may only advertise in the Advertisement boards, the URL area in the c-box, the 'Website' area in the 'Modify Profile', or in your signature.
- Make sure that, in making of your introduction (or anywhere on this board, really) you never ever reveal any personal information. Something like, 'Hi, I'm Jennifer Smith. I live in Alice Springs, Australia, mate!' is not acceptable. Instead, you could say, 'Hey, I'm Jennifer. I'm from Australia, mate!'. The internet is a dangerous thing, my friends.
- If someone posts a website that you do not like, please don't insult it publicly, or in that threat. Your post will be deleted and you will be warned, and if it continues, banned.
Account Guidelines
- Keep your signatures 500x300 or smaller to keep from stretching the board. I love custom-made signatures, so try to make your own- if you don't have Adobe, Lunapic.com, Polyvore.com, and Photobucket.com are personal favorites of mine.
- You are allowed to advertise in your signature, but don't make a huge, ostentatious (flashy) advert. Keep it to a linked photograph or a hyperlink.
- BS is an APM (account per member) website, which means all characters shall go on one account. This means that Dolly, Tasha, Landon, and Carley would all go under the account name 'Rayne'. Do not create separate accounts for each of your characters.
Where's The Code?
NO WHERE! Yeah, that's right. I suppose you're wondering where the code for the biographies is... but if you're reading this, then clearly you should know by now that there isn't one! :3 Don't be mad at my trickery.
Feel free to copy these rules if you're like me and far too lazy to write them yourself. Be sure to read them through, though, because depending on what your site is about, obviously you're going to have to change a few things.
